Music composition course for kids and teens

Composer in Residence – our interpretation:
Kids and teens can learn all about musical composition from a well-known composer in courses that are held at regular intervals. These classes are not associated with any institution and any young person interested in composing music can join. 
Following a successful course in 2008, the 2011project under the guidance of the chiffren-composer Cord Meijering (Head of the Akademie für Tonkunst Darmstadt/ Darmstadt Academy of Musical Arts) is devoted to composing an opera score together with kids and teens aged 10 through 16.  The theme of this opera, which will be staged by the Theater of Kiel, is a modern version of the fairy tale entitled “Kalif Storch” (“Caliph Stork”).
