chiffren gives young musicians a chance

Discover something new – try something unusual

chiffren encourages young instrumentalists to become actively involved in new music and to experience and explore the possibilities of creativity inherent in this type of music. As an incentive to do so, chiffren has initiated this special award in connection with the annual “Jugend musiziert” competition in Schleswig-Holstein. The prize is meant to honor the outstanding interpretation of a piece of contemporary music. Various solo musicians and ensembles are nominated by the jury of the state-level competition “Jugend musiziert”.  In a second round, the nominees have to present their program to another jury composed of experts in new music.
